Assessor and trainer; specialist installer
Height safety training and assessment, technical rigging, industrial rope access, installations at height, work in confined spaces, specialist sales and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inspections.
Colin has worked with THS since 2003. As well as being a lead trainer, he is also a nationally accredited assessor in height safety and rope access. He is also a key project supervisor for many of the specialist projects undertaken by THS.
Colin has been involved in a variety of technical rigging and installation projects throughout his career. One of his more challenging roles has been as a rigger on industrial shutdowns for railways, power stations and refineries. He has also worked as a rigger on many entertainment and telecommunications projects. This provides Colin with a wealth of experience to draw on plus a sound basis for delivering practical training courses with real life scenarios.
Colin has worked with clients as diverse as local councils, corporations, schools and theatre / event companies. His projects include the installation of a static line for building maintenance at the Cook and Phillip Park aquatic centre; changeover of filters for the exterior lighting system at the Sydney Town Hall and tree bracing system installations at the University of Wollongong and Knox Grammar. He also consulted and installed a restraint system for the float of the Convict Rugby Club for the 2015 Sydney Mardi Gras.
Education and qualifications
Colin’s qualifications include: workplace training and assessor: industrial rope access; PPE inspection; rigging; work at height; tower access and rescue; confined space and elevated work platform.
