PETZL CHICANE ADDITIONAL BRAKE Petzl Chicane
I'm a not so young (70+) amateur arborist, today I purchased a Petzl Chicane from THS and unreservedly recommend this piece of hardware (and additionally, the good service I received from THS).
Previously, when climbing to a height of approx 25-30m on DRT, my energy levels suffered by the time I reached the work area (branch pruning etc) ... with the 'Zigzag +Chicane SRT' combination there's now no need for an aerial nanna-nap before starting work; I'm only expending half the energy to reach the same height. The Chicane-assisted descent was a breeze, the rope 'f'eed' was smooth and easily controllable, even at speed. I have never felt in danger while ascending with the DRT+ZigZag, however, I must admit I have greater peace-of-mind while descending with the Chicane+SRT. Excellent bit of gear; I'm impressed.

VERTICAL TECHNOLOGY SOFT LINK RESCUE SLING Old stock and poor service
Very poor. You supplied me items that were years into their use by date - one sling only had 2 years life left. I paid for new, not new old stock. You failed to reply to my emails and fobbed me off when I called, advising me that is what happens in this industry. Strange it never happened to me with any other company in industry over the last 15 years.

I bought this item for "light duty" purposes which didn't warrant the extra cost of triple-action security; I'm well satisfied with my purchase. It is lightweight, smooth in operation and locks firmly every time. A worthwhile addition to my lanyard.
Better still was the level of service provided by THS ...a bit of a keyboard hiccup (by me) in accessing the website-purchase was identified by and handled with courtesy by THS staff.

These look OK but they are pretty small so they are more difficult than they need to be to get around the rope.

BRIDCO CLAW SNAP SHACKLE Disappointing
Ordered what was in the picture, but was delivered something different. When I spoke to them I was informed that they had put up the wrong picture and would organise a refund. That was the last I heard from them. Still waiting for the refund. It wasn’t A lot of money, just disappointed in the lack of care. Can’t say I would recommend from my experience.
