The historic 100-year-old Port Jackson Fig in Hamilton’s Gregson Park will live to see another day, possibly another 20 years, thanks to a plan from City of Newcastle.
After a recent branch break, it looked as though the century-old tree would have to be removed, however, THS devised a plan to install a cable system in the tree’s canopy.
The plan, which was developed in conjunction with expert arborists from THS, will also include planting a small, fenced garden underneath the tree’s drip line, which will further cement the tree as a major feature of the picturesque Hamilton park.
